Director of Customer Relations


Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Purpose

Manage and oversee the sales operations to include setting strategy to meet sales targets, develop and cultivate relationships with clients and evaluate costs to determine product pricing. Managing customers’ accounts. Serve as primary day-to-day contact, referring to other departments for resolution as needed. Co-ordinates and resolves any issues with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met.

Internal

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Communicate sales goals established by the company and ensure executives are informed on the progress of those goals. Promote weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives.
  • Drafting detailed and accurate sales reports.
  • Assessing costs, competition, and supply and demand to design margins are achieved.
  • Recommend price/contribution from cost estimate information & review with manager prior to submitting quotes & proposals to customers.
  • Present ideas that may have an impact on cost reduction, product improvement, new product possibilities, increased sales volume, & new customers.
  • Estimating sales volume and profit for current and new products.
  • Establishing a sales training program for training new employees.
  • Work closely with the production, engineering & quality team to create an unbeatable value proposition for the customer
  • Responsible for continuous update of all customer information including engineering specifications.  Establish & maintain files for use in Sales & related activities in the CRM system.
  • Keep CEO apprised of sales pipeline, competitive landscape, pricing, design engineering needs, potential new or modified approaches, industry performance requirements, product changes, or other factors that would influence company business decisions.
  • Report on forces that shift strategic directions of accounts and tactical budgets.

External

  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
  • Resolve conflict situations as needed to ensure the most beneficial application of business opportunities are achieved within the eMatrix long term business objectives to grow customer loyalty
  • Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.
  • Periodically update value propositions through sales presentations and proposals.
  • Cultivating lasting relationships with customers to grow customer loyalty.
  • Manage service to the customer in a timely manner.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the automotive, aerospace, defense or robotics industry in technical customer service or sales.
  • The ideal candidate should be self-disciplined and self-motivated with a strong customer focus and feeling for qualitative work.
  • Experience in program purchasing roles preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written form to convey information in reports, meetings and status reports conversing in financial, technical, and contractual issues
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Suite or Google Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience with Odoo is preferred.
  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and commitment.
  • Highly developed time management and follow up skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Self-starter, excellent people and problem-solving skills, strong task ownership and superior work ethic
  • Ability to respond constructively to customer requests and issues.
  • Decision making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
  • Must be able to relate & communicate well with people at all levels.
