Quality Manager


Reports to: CEO

Purpose

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the success of the company’s quality management system, compliance with requirements, standards and regulations. The manager’s duties include developing and implementing quality control processes. The manager is also responsible to coordinate with the Certification engineer/Intern to achieve required certifications, develop plans to reach these certifications and coordinate with stakeholders to execute these plans.

  • Motivates and leads a high performance team; attracts, recruits and retains required members of the quality team; mentors direct reports to cultivate skills and to increase consciousness of the interrelationships between departments.
  • Spearheads the development, communication and implementation of effective continual improvement strategies and processes.
  • Stay informed and understand all aspects of quality and management, including new regulations, organizational policies, and possible new technologies and practices.
  • Identifies opportunities for the company to leverage strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or address organizational challenges.
  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Employee management responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data including statistical process control, in-process inspection sheets, 8D corrective actions, inspection sheets, corrective action requests and other tools.
  • Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods.
  • Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so they are up to industry and company standards.
  • Responsible for incoming quality and addressing supplier quality issues.Eliminating products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problems.
  • Coordinate with Safety and Certifications Intern to determine certifications which the company should focus on and coordinate all aspects of the certification process with the external and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide guidance on quality
  • Drive company’s certification processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies conformity processes.
  • Communicate with colleagues and subordinates as you coach them through certification programs.
  • Work directly with engineering and manufacturing departments to manage internal efforts to achieve quality goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a quality manager
  • BA or Bsc in relevant field preferred
  • Excellent math/statistics abilities and working knowledge of statistical methods
  • In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards 
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy 

Other Skills

  • Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state and local regulations
  • Experience preparing and earning IATF and ISO Certification of quality is a strong advantage 
  • Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings and status reports
  • Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control
  • Attention to detail 
  • Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws and pose solutions to those 
  • Interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to handle stress

The Manufacturing Process Engineer is assigned to the manufacturing department charged with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the production processes needed to deliver products to customers. Designs and implements systems and equipment procedures used in manufacturing facilities. Their main duties include testing and monitoring equipment, updating current system processes and conducting risk assessments. This is a generalist position requiring wide ranging manufacturing and assembly background in component and vehicle level operations.
