Safety and Certification Engineer/Intern

Reports to: CEO


The Safety and Certification Engineer/Intern is responsible for overseeing the success of our site safety, compliance with requirements, standards and regulations. The engineer/intern duties include developing and implementing safety and certification processes. The engineer/intern is also responsible to identify required certifications, develop plans to reach these certifications and coordinate with stakeholders to execute these plans.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so they are up to industry and company standards
  • Identify certifications which the company should focus on
  • Coordinate all aspects of the certification process with the external and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide guidance on regulations
  • Coordinate with testing and certification bodies to complete required testing and obtain certifications and records
  • Constant research and analysis of International, federal, state and local rules and regulations
  • Provide summary updates on each test and provide potential failure analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies conformity processes
  • Compiles certification documentation for submission to regulatory agencies
  • Develop new tests based on industry standards and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Student or recent graduate with Bachelor’s in engineering or related field
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to process and summarize large amount of information

  • Preferred familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state and local regulations
  • Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings and status reports
  • Attention to detail
  • Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws and pose solutions to those
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stress
