Test Engineer – Battery Systems

Reports to: CTO

Purpose

The Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the success of our site safety, compliance with requirements, standards and regulations. The engineer duties include developing and implementing testing and certification processes. The engineer is also responsible to identify required certifications, develop plans to reach these certifications and coordinate with stakeholders to execute these plans.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performing detailed and recorded inspections of test units before and after testing.
• Identify certifications priorities for internally funded programs.
• Coordinate all aspects of the testing and certification process with the external and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide guidance on regulations, testing and certifications.
• Coordinate with testing and certification bodies to complete required testing and obtain certifications and records.
• Constant research and analysis of International, federal, state and local rules and regulations.
• Provide summary updates on each test and provide potential failure analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory bodies conformity processes.
• Compiles certification documentation for submission to regulatory agencies.
• Develop and executes new tests based on industry standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years or more in battery systems testing and validation or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s in engineering or related field.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to process and summarize large amount of information.

Other Skills

• Preferred familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state and local regulations.
• Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings and status reports
• Attention to detail.
• Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws and pose solutions to those.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stress.
